Inter Dominion History
The Inter Dominion Championship is a jewel in Australasia’s harness racing crown.
First held in 1936, the Inter Dominion is one of the most time-honoured events and has captured the attention of the racing industry and fans from around the world.
The series has traditionally been hosted on rotation from state-to-state in Australia as well as New Zealand.
A true test of stamina with three rounds of heats into a final, the Grand Circuit event features some of the finest domestic and international horses.
Australian pacer Blacks A Fake has been the most successful horse in the history of the event having won four finals in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010.

2024 Series
The Inter Dominion Championship is hosted on rotation across Australia and New Zealand and returns to New South Wales in 2024 having last hosted the event in 2021.
The 2024 series includes three rounds of heats across three different racetracks around the state leading into the finals at Menangle.
Australasia’s finest pacers and trotters will showcase elite harness racing in major regional towns across the state.
The series will start in Newcastle before heading west to Bathurst and then Menangle. Horses with the highest number of points scored throughout the qualifying heats will progress to the respective finals.
